So in this article we will see few clients, mostly web, that allow you to control your BitTorrent client from home.

First read this article to see which clients support remote control and how to setup them.

iPhone Web Interface for µTorrent

Here is a very simple iPhone optimized web interface — it allows for basic control of the µTorrent client, you can:

  • See the status of active torrents
  • Pause, resume a torrent
  • Add a new torrent by entering a url to torrent (or mininova id)

Note: To use this you must have installed on your computer uTorrent and WebUI.
Download and read installation instructions here.

uTorrent Mobile

for Java based devices

uTorrent Mobile allows you to remotely control uTorrent using your mobile device. This application has been tested on a motorola V3x, and Nokia 6120 classic. It has been confirmed to work on most Nokias, and Blackberries, and should work on anything else that supports j2me applications.

Download and fiind out more here.

µTorrent MiniUI

µTorrent MiniUI is a web interface for µTorrent’s WebUI backend, designed with screens with limited horizontal real estate in mind. That means it is well suited for use in mobile web browsers (though that doesn’t preclude any possible uses in desktop browsers).

Find installation instructions and supported browsers on the official page above.

Transdroid

Transdroid is an Android remote client for your torrent application running on a server or home computer. Currently Transmission, uTorrent, Bittorrent, Deluge and rTorrent are supported. It can show the active torrents, pause, resume or remove them and new torrents can be added via URL or as an extra via an isoHunt-powered search.

The application is currently in extensive development and can be beta-tested. It is open-source and free.
