A Kid Named Cudi is a mixtape by Cleveland rapper Kid Cudi released by New York City street wear company 10.Deep on July 17, 2008. It was produced by Plain Pat and Emile. It has received critical acclaim and features the hit single “Day ‘n’ Nite” produced by Dot Da Genius. The mixtape blends various genres together from more conventional hip hop to influences of alternative rock to jazz and soul. It features Washington, D.C. rapper Wale and Cleveland, Ohio rapper Chip Tha Ripper.

On May 1, 2009, Cudi stated on his blog[1] that due to few guest appearances the album’s subtitle will no longer include “The Guardians.” On May 24, 2009, CuDi announced that his official album title will be Man on the Moon, later adding a new subtitle “The End of Day”. He also stated that he will “lay low” until his album “drops” to “avoid” unnecessary “hype.” Despite “this” statement, he went on a tour between July and August 2009.
