FAQ
As we currently still developing the Q&A page, the answers to the most common question will appear here as they appear.
Q: What is Qtorr about?
A: Qtorr tries to bring you only selected links to high quality torrents, as we are a news website, we don’t supply torrents, nor do we store illegal data on our servers. What we will do instead, is supply you with links to .torrent files. Even if some Copyright lobbies think that downloading .torrent file constitutes copyright infringement we also know ,that the .torrent files you can download from the links that we provide are nothing more than metadata and checksums. The data that you receive from downloading a .torrent file is found on the individuals computer and not on the Qtorr servers. Not a single byte of copyrighted content is, or ever will be stored on the Qtorr servers.
Q: Who runs Qtorr?
A: Qtorr is run currently by a small group of persons around the world, all in their free time and FOR FREE. We are 3 at the time, and we hope our number will grow over time. If you like our posts, and would like to support our work, please drop a comment if you please.
Q: How does Qtorr obtain new scene releases?
A: It depends entirely on the individual editor. Some editors have access to top sites, some have access to private trackers, some use UseNet, others use IRC and some have a mix of different sources. All staff have access to prechannels which allows us to post a release as fast as possible. The majority of our editors come from a BitTorrent background, but there are few that use the above sources including top sites. We only use these sources to check releases and not to download them…
Q: Are there any rules when posting comments?
A: Of course there are, as any house, we have rules of behavior! No racism, homophobia or similarly abusive behavior. No spamming. No useless Off topic posts (including 1st posts). Any comment that does not respect the above rules will be deleted or marked as spam, so don’t say you weren’t warned.
Q: Where can I find more info about affil/link exchange etc.?
A: Check the Contact page.
Q: I want to help Qtorr but not as an editor, what can I do?
A: Mail us with what you can do or want to do and we will see if we can work something out for you.
Q: Can you post a particular release? it’s not yet on the site.
A: Ask in the main Contact and if an editor can, will post it.
